Day 1 – Timber Rafting at Jelení Vrchy & Visit to a Bio Farm
Morning: Timber rafting at Jelení Vrchy with a guided tour of the local museum. Participants will get hands-on experience floating logs—the basic raw material of Šumava, deeply tied to local life and history.
Lunch: In a cozy local pub
Afternoon: Visit to a sheep and goat bio farm with tasting of local cheeses and meat products. Learn about life on a bio farm. Optionally, visit a local beekeeper.
Dinner: Grilled meal under the stars by a campfire
Day 2 – Crafting Traditional Wooden “Holubička” and Fishing Adventure
Morning: Tour of a local workshop producing the Šumava wooden holubička, a traditional handmade product symbolizing the region’s woodcraft heritage.
Visit to a fish farm, including a talk about breeding methods and a hands-on catch-and-release fishing experience with expert guidance.
Lunch: At a local microbrewery, featuring beer tasting and a fish lunch prepared from the locally caught fish
Afternoon: Visit to Vítkův Hrádek Castle and the Treetop Walkway
Evening: Refreshments at the charming Povidloň confectionery café
Day 3 – Monastery, Castle & River Rafting
- Visit to the Vyšší Brod Monastery
- Rafting on the Vltava River
- Tour of the Rožmberk Castle
Seasonal Add-ons (based on the time of year):
- Mushroom picking in the Šumava forests, followed by drying and preparing a local mushroom dish
- Blueberry picking and preparation of a regional blueberry specialty
- Visit to a deer reserve and observation of stags during the rutting season
- Hot air balloon ride over the Šumava landscape
