For private flights, it is possible to use the České Budějovice LKCS Airport – a non-public international airport with an external border eligible for visibility flights (VFR) during the day. Follow-up connections from the mentioned airports are provided by high-quality public bus and railway transport. We recommend individual visitors to use the car rental services at the airport.

By car

South Bohemia is easily accessible from the northern and eastern parts of the Czech Republic and from neighbouring Austria via the D3 motorway and the E55 road (Prague – České Budějovice – Linz), to which local transport hubs connect.

Public transport

In the Czech Republic, there is a dense network of transport infrastructure and fully functional public bus and rail transport. Another popular method of transport is shuttle bus transfer.

Bus connection
The bus connection is provided by several companies in the region as part of regular scheduled transport. We recommend passengers always book a ticket in advance.

Rail transport
International train connections run via České Budějovice and an important railway junction in Veselí nad Lužnicí. In 2009, a new railway corridor connecting České Budějovice with the capital city of Prague was put into operation. International intercity trains run regularly on the line, ensuring the comfort of passengers. The journey takes about 2 hours.
