Culinary experiences in the Lipno region
Non-binding inquiryMany products from this area carry the ŠUMAVA original product ® trademark. A major draw is also the stylish establishments offering honest home cooking, such as Kynutá buchta in Horní Planá or Molo Lipno—a restaurant anchored on the largest lake pier in Central Europe, where you can enjoy extraordinary culinary experiences.
Roman Koprolín and Josef Šabaka have been running an original bistro on the picturesque square in Horní Planá called Kynutá buchta since late 2020. They bake delicious cream rolls, buns, cakes, and pastries according to grandmother’s recipes. Locals and tourists alike come here for potato rolls, multi-grain bread, Italian baguettes, and salted cumin rolls…
The Lipno Reservoir, the largest dam in our country, has a new unique feature this year: the longest lake pier in Central Europe, which is part of the award-winning Molo Lipno Residence project.
The restaurant is exceptional from both an architectural and gastronomic perspective. The menu was created by Chef David Šašek and his team. During his career, David has personally cooked for many prominent figures, including Madeleine Albright, Morgan Freeman, and Bobby McFerrin, which he values greatly. “I believe in minimalism, both on the plate and in life, because there is beauty and strength in simplicity,” says the well-known Czech chef David Šašek, who led the prestigious CODA restaurant at the Aria Hotel for over 16 years.
Fresh and fruity desserts—honey pastry with blackcurrant and mango cake with lime and blood orange—these sweets and many others can be tasted at the Povidloň confectionery in the center of Lipno nad Vltavou.
“Our permanent selection mainly includes traditional Czech desserts—from meringue shells to brandy tips and cream puffs. We also bake fresh cakes daily and prepare eight types of our own ice cream and homemade popsicles, which are available at the Modřín campsite and in the Forest Kingdom,” they state.
