Gastronomical experiences in the České Budějovice region
As a regional centre of South Bohemia, České Budějovice is the seat of gastronomical experiences. However, other places in the České Budějovice region, especially the towns of Hluboká nad Vltavou and Týn nad Vltavou, are not far behind. In Hluboká you will find a restaurant that specializes in cooking game, where a member of the Czech gastronomic national team also cooks. New facilities are being established in Týn nad Vltavou and at the nearby Mitrowicz Chateau in Koloděje nad Lužnicí – and they can prepare an unforgettable gastronomical event for you.
In České Budějovice we recommend the cooking school Fine Food Academy , where the following applies: what you cook, you also eat. We can teach groups of up to 40 people to cook local specialities in a fun way. For those who are interested, there is a fully equipped kitchen and social area.
As we are a beer region, you will find many mini-breweries and large breweries, such as Samson and Budvar. In Budweiser Budvar you can visit the production site of this world gem and personally observe the process of the birth of this Czech gold. You will also be treated to beer tasting in the local cellars. In addition to the operation itself, you can also visit the multimedia visitor centre.
For true lovers of gastronomy (and especially beer), there is also the opportunity to become a barman for a while. At our Budějcká Srdcovka pub, you can participate in the beer tapping school, see the kitchen and how things work from the other side of the bar.
Did you know that České Budějovice is home to one of the TOP 10 bars in the Czech Republic outside of Prague, where local barmen regularly win national and international competitions? Try mixing (and tasting!) a few drinks in the restaurant (with its great selection of drinks and snacks) at the Poetic Cocktail Bar Yellow Submarine . It is housed in the beautiful historic building of a former salt-house and the local atmosphere is unforgettable. You can then continue to the Dance Bar Paradox, which has won the Best Club competition in the Bar Awards competition multiple times.
