Luznice Valley Trail through Toulava
Non-binding inquiryExplore the first and so far only hiking trail in the Czech Republic to be included on the list of the best trails in Europe: Leading Quality Trails Best of Europe.
The Lužnice Valley Trail through Toulava hiking route is 55 km long in total; it begins in Planá nad Lužnicí and continues through Tábor and Bechyně along the river’s enchanting deep valley, past castle ruins and old mills, all the way to Týn nad Vltavou.
The trail is divided into 4 day stages. You don’t have to hike the entire route; you can choose a shorter section instead. The most popular and oldest part of the trail, built as early as 1899, is the section from Tábor to Příběnice (12 km) and then on to Bechyně (30 km).
A competitive quiz is linked to the trail, with installations directly on the route that you can play while divided into teams.
Return transport is possible by train along the oldest electrified line, built by František Křižík.
We would be happy to help you organize your program:
- Tell us your requirements regarding group size and difficulty, and we will plan the most suitable section of the route for you.
- For every participant, we provide a route map with information about points of interest and a scorecard for the competitive quiz.
- By arrangement, we can provide refreshments along the route as requested at the legendary Příběnice hikers’ hut (12 km from Tábor).
- We will recommend suitable accommodation for you.
- We can arrange special activities on the Trail for you: boat rentals and canoeing along part of the route, guided tours of the town of Bechyně including the castle and monastery, a trip to Tábor or Bechyně on the historic “Bobinka” electric train, or a rock climbing course on the cliffs by the Lužnice (for small groups only).
