Castle Flavours of South Bohemia in Blatná and Čížová
The tradition of brewing beer—as well as producing a variety of liqueurs—runs deep in Czech culture. It’s a tradition you can experience, explore, and we’re sure, return to more than once.
Discover the South Bohemian castle in Čížová, where beer is brewed right on the premises—and where the brewery itself played a key role in saving the castle. The second part of the program takes you to the unique castle distillery Liquib in Blatná, where typical Czech liqueurs have been crafted under the patronage of the noble Hildprandt family for over thirty years. Green mint, vanilla, cherry liqueur… Feeling tempted?
Optional Add-ons
A guided tour can be arranged, during which a local expert will take you through the sites and explain their culinary and historical context. You can also add a tasting of sourdough bread, baked in a 200-year-old oven.
A shorter version of the visit includes just the standard tours. Each stop lasts approximately 60–90 minutes, depending on the group’s interest and chosen tastings.
